GenoEasy was built for one purpose: creating professional genograms without hours of learning. This guide covers all features — from your first line to printing.
Getting Started: Adding People
When you open GenoEasy, a blank canvas is ready. Add people by double-clicking or using the toolbar — GenoEasy asks for gender, name and date of birth. Parent-child connections are created by dragging between two symbols.
Key Features
GenoEasy provides all the features needed for professional genogram work:
- Relationship lines: Partnership, marriage, separation, divorce — all standard types after McGoldrick & Gerson
- Relationship qualities: Close, distant, conflicted, cut-off — shown as coloured lines
- Notes and diagnoses: Each person can have medical information and free notes
- Export: PDF for records, PNG for presentations, encrypted .genoeasy file
Privacy Without Compromise
GenoEasy stores all data locally on your device — no cloud, no server, no data sharing. Optional AES-256-GCM encryption protects the file even if the device is lost.
For practices and teams there is the practice licence for up to five devices. Multi-page printing automatically detects when distribution over multiple pages makes sense.
